So as some of you know I’m getting married in may, so I guess it’s time, per future mrs Jimbo, to get something for my guys standing up, I’m kind of drawing a blank other than the typical beer glass or mount in the garage bottle opener, any ideas?

I had this issue as well when I got married in May. I got my groomsman hatchets. I didn’t get to have them engraved like I wanted but they liked them. At least I think they did. [External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied]

well being Italian, I gave my groomsmen a money clip with the date engraved, so be it maybe tacky but ask any of the guys and they still have it 33+ yrs now

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Hahahaha wow. That’s actually pretty cool. Axes say so many things to a man!

I bought my dad an estwing like that for Christmas last year, I think that’s the better route than an engraved one which is really shit for functionality and tool quality

Go to Harry’s and buy the Truman Razor set or something like that! Pretty inexpensive and I have two of their razors, they are fantastic and styled really nice.

NicolasRamosMember since Sep 2016

Not nearly as cool as hatchets, but my buddy had koozies made with the wedding date, and under he and his wife’s name it said “to have and to hold, and to keep my beer cold”

My best man sent me a picture of his son using it. I thought hat was cool.

I wanted to get something functional that you don’t normally see. I got a personalized mug for one wedding I was in… it sits on my dresser with junk in it. Let’s face it. I’ll never use it for anything and at some point that mug will run away. Just like my gold fish did as a kid.

A lot of stuff I see online for groomsmen is golfing related and that’s not me or my groomsmen

In the wedding I was just in, we got cigar humidors customized for us. I know a few that have done tie clips/money clip sets. How about engraved pliers wrenches? haha

Lol! You’re just trying to get another pair of pliers wrenches!

I gave my groomsmen a Zippo lighter and a shot glass that had mine and Mrs. Conductor’s name and  the wedding date. Of course they all drank and all but one of them smoked, so there’s that.

I got an engraved hip flask at one wedding, which was kinda cool. My wife’s cousin gave pocket knives Got everyone a Case XX with their names on one blade and Best Man, Groomsman, etc, on the other blade. Wish I’d thought of that.

I wish!

I like the idea of pocket knives, an engraved swiss army knife would be great.

That’s a cool idea. You can order them personalized from Smokey Mountain Knife Works too.

OhiostatebuckeyefanMember since Jun 2016

I was going to suggest a pocket knife as well.  Maybe their name or your names and the date engraved or just a slogan that will remind them of your friendship.

FoneguyMember since Mar 2016

Congrats !!!

If you have time, maybe a small handmade item. Cigar box , pocket dump tray (not sure what it’s called, when you dump out your pockets on the dresser).

or something small like that.

rrich1Member since Jun 2015

I did engraved pens and flashlights.

1st off congrats jimbo – have you thought about the Kobalt personalized socket sets as a part of the gifts ? I ordered a bunch for contractors I work for the all loved them.

NordrawMember since Dec 2012

I have one of those Kobalt ratchets and socket set in gold and it is very cool. Would make a great gift.

TheultimatehicMember since Dec 2016

I received a flask with my nickname in one wedding and a knife with the wedding date and my name engraved in it. I’m getting married in November so i still have plenty of time to figure out what I’d do but good thread.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

I’ve thought about the kobalt sets, I like them just not sure how much use they’d get from them, in liking the flashlight idea

I might have missed it but what is the budget per person?

BMack37Member since Sep 2015

I have to be honest, if I was given the ratchet set it would be a wall hanger.

Thinking of ideas myself. Was thinking a nice 20 or 30oz rtic or yetti cup engraved. Its cool to give something some will use an not toss in a drawer.

Thats a good idea! I love my Yeti tumblers, but realistically they’re all the same. Also the rtics are less than half the cost!

I’m a veteran & some of my groomsmen are vets so I decided to keep the theam. I gave everyone an engraved .50 BMG round that was modified into a bottle opener.

Ill take a pic tomorrow of the one I have

@JimboS1ice Whats your budget for each person? Would a festool systainer with their names professionally engraved or printed on to them work? something m12? Milwaukee camo knife+utility knife kit? tough system box? Some kind of tool that would look nice displayed on a shelf?

I’d say 40-50 tops, problem is only 2 of them can navigate around a hammer and nails without getting their thumb in the way lol

I think this is the vendor we bought the .50 cal gifts from:

https://www.bullets2bandages.org/collections/manly-groomsmen-gifts

they have stuff like six-shooter shot glasses and other manly gifts.

I had the rounds engraved with their last name, branch they served in, and our wedding date.

My pic won’t upload-must be too big. Here’s a vendor pic. I bought the regular style brass but these nickel plated ones look good.

Around $100 for a set

I got a wallet and money clip 5 years ago. I still have them to this day, and the clip is my daily driver for cash, card and license. Practical gifts are the best. Nothing worse than kitschy crap. Some very cool suggestions in this thread, the bottle openers especially; practical yet personalized. Isn’t that the kicker with gift buying; trying to combine thoughtful, personalized and useful lol.
