Sign fabrication projects

@Theultimatehic Wish I could spend a day at your shop or just a day to hang out with you and talk about signs and stuff. I have what looks to be the same CNC as yourself. Is the the Gerber Sabre 408? It’s a real workhorse at our shop. I just saw the Accubend Ace in the recent issue of Sign Builders mag.

Here’s an interior sign I’m doing for a gym. They want a rustic look with wood they supplied. I built an aluminum frame that the wood attaches to which will mount wroth a bracket on the wall. Now that the frame is built and wood is laid out, I can now take my pattern for letters and logo and mark them accordingly so i can mount studs to aluminum faces. More pics to come on this one. Will have a freddys finished sign here soon.

So here’s the letters for the gym sign. Laid them out with a pattern so i can transfer marks for studs to the wood for mounting.  First pics shows them with punch marks next two photos show studs welded on.

Here it is with the wood set and l.e.d. track attached. It will get painted black to match frame. Next step will be installing the letters that were previously studded.

They are located all over the U.S., they are fairly popular. They have good fries and custards as well as the burgers

Reminds me of Culver’s. Never been there but they say it’s good custard and burgers. .

Awesome looking signs from what I can see, the rest are just a blank little square, must be something to do with the forum changes

TheultimatehicMember since Dec 2016

Haha I make signs for culvers as well. They are delicious in a different way.  Butterburgers.

I kind of wish you would start a different thread for each build. I have not checked this thread in a while and you do some beautiful work, but it gets lost when its all grouped together. Again very nice stuff!

Easier to manage in one thread… guess you need to hit the follow button:p @SetBuilder

Here’s a neat sign. Don’t have all the production photos for this but here is the finished product

How does duct work come into play? haha

I always tell the guys at work (plumbing and HVAC) that I would be happy if i didn’t touch another piece of duct in my life LOL that’s why i like doing the plumbing, keeps me away from that stuff haha

I did duct work in the union. Sign fab is  much more enjoyable lol

Only sheet metal work I have done (other than the occasional home repair) was on aircraft. 2024-T3 and 7075-T6 aluminum are easier to work with than thin steel, but will slice you if given the chance. Nice signs!

Man talk about a busy month! Bout to go to 10 hour days and weekends. Haven’t been posting much just reading. Time for me to post something lol. So here’s some window graphics i installed earlier this week. Photo from the original forum

Osha is putting some new rules  out for the sign industry so been working on that scam among other things. Have to pay thousands for a cert to avoid thousands in fines. So if you don’t hear from im still here, just busy slamming my head into the desk ha.

JronmanMember since May 2016

looks great. sometimes Osha regulations go a bit to far. I can understand the new dust regulations but this just doesn’t make sense. Does every guy in the sign shop have to get certified or can a shop have one certified guy to check other guys signs?

Anyone that uses the crane portion has to be certified. So all the lead installers.
