I upload my videos to my YouTube channel and then add a link to the post.
I may be wrong but you are probably better off uploading to an off site location such as youtube, spendvid, vidme ect ect and share the link
EDIT: what Chris said….lol
Thanks guys. I got on to Vimeo and set up my video, now I am having a problem with getting the video from there to here. I copied the URL on the video but cannot insert in into my post.
press and hold screen and paste no? if not take a screen shot of url and post pic and I will see
When I view my video on Vimeo there is a link on the top of the video and it has a copy URL feature, I click that then go back to my post to “insert other media”
then click on Insert image from URL, I then try to paste it in and nothing happens. I was so close,, lol
Give me a couple of days to see what is going on. I will see if I can fix it, but if not, I can talk with our IT guy. I know we reset what type of things can be uploaded, but I am surprised it’s not taking a link. It might just be a setting on the backend. Is it giving you an error message?
Thanks Eric, when I try to copy the URL to my post it just keeps blinking, and does not download the pic. Appreciate your help.
Vimeo test
I tried to post both YouTube and Vimeo and they both were able to post. Question, are you posting the link from the address bar on the video or the share link? I posted the above two videos from my iPad and used the share link, not the address bar link.
The only reason we don’t allow videos directly is server space and cost. We wish we could let people upload videos directly, but it just eats away at our server space. When we have to get more server space, it cost a lot of money each month. Plus when you upload it to your account, you have control if you ever want to pull it down or make changes to the video.
Thanks Eric. I click on the share link (kinda looks like a paper airplane) and it then says CopyURL, I click that to copy it and try to paste on my TIA post under the Insert other media button but it doesn’t take.
Try the same link with the airplane, but instead of using the insert, just paste it directly into the post. Once you paste it into the post, give it a couple of seconds and it should then automatically load. If it doesn’t load right away, try hitting enter after posting
Let me know, this should work, but if not, let me know.
Let me know if you can view the video
thanks
nope nothing

Its labled as Makita 36V chainsaw. I was able to open that link yesterday but today it says error.
Thanks Comp
when you want to post a video, click on share button on the vimeo page then when new window opens copy link and paste direct in post…..

Thanks Comp, I know this might sound dumb but I don’t see a share button anywhere.
Comp, you’re pretty Comp-etent at this stuff ?
I’ll be here all week
Thanks for taking a screen shot and helping out with this. The share button is on the vimeo website and not the forum. Once you copy the video shared link on Vimeo, use that address to post directly in the post on this forum. If you need, let me know and we can do a teamview.
