Hey guys. Sorry first time posting on here. I have a Milwaukee m18 fuel 1/2 drive impact gun. Year and a half old and it’s gone faulty :(. Totally forgot to register it online for the extended warranty so need to try repair it.
gun won’t work atall even with different batteries. When the trigger is pulled the led work light in the front flashes three times then pauses then flashes three times and so on. Is this a flash code and does anyone ever heard of this???
cheers and thank you
Online registration isn’t required. A receipt isn’t even required. Worst case scenario they’ll go off the manufacturing date. Contact Milwaukee.
Welcome, sorry to hear about that, and bremon is right.
Here’s a little post about that further:

.
I have had the best experience going online to their eservice website and filling out the form, they pay for shipping both ways.

Milwaukee only does a year warranty in the UK it looks like unless you register the tool then its extended to 3

I would contact Milwaukee first and ask, I’m not sure how much the repair would cost but it’s worth a look. The unit is shutting down in protection so the majority of the unit probably works.
If you have to pull it apart I’d look at the logic board, you’d want to look for any signs of excessive heat. The problem is that I’m assuming they insulated the board from debris so it will likely be covered in goo and you won’t be able to see anything. You should be able to see if the motor turns by applying A/C to the motor leads, but you’d really only want to do it with a variac…so assuming you don’t have one (because most people don’t), you can simply spin the motor and see how it feels, if there is a lot of resistance then you know that it’s a drive problem.

This type of nonsense should be illegal imo. Adds a step into something that should be effortless just to save money on the people who forget.
What did you end up finding out? I have the same year and series of tool and I’m getting the same code.
Regarding light blinking 3 times and no run. i used mine in a welding shop for a couple years, went to do control arms on my truck when it happened to me. Older 2673, to old for parts 🙁 , so I took cover off motor, the pc board was covered in fine iron powder, got a can electric contact cleaner, 5 minutes later a Bob’s your uncle good to go.
Mine was blinking 3 times pause repeat. Cleaned battery contact points with some electrical contact cleaner and a toothbrush and pieces of absorbent paper towels. Problem solved.
Hi all got a 18v one key 1/2″ impact wrench, was working fine then stopped,no apparent reason, remove battery for a time, refit & pull trigger&of it Poe’s until you let go then it won’t go all speed no’s on &no go any ideas ?
This is the third time my 18 V Milwaukee fuel has been in for repair light blinks three times when you pull the trigger nothing happens other than that. Is it a failed part is it a connection issue. It’s not a matter of getting it fixed it’s a matter of taking the time to lose the gun. Well it’s getting fixed. It’s a half inch impact high torque
After investigation and cleaning everything up putting it back together there’s definitely a break in the board I can tap on it a certain way and it works.
I had the same issue. Light blinking 3 times, motor won’t turn. I took it apart, cleaned all the boards with contact cleaner and tooth brush. Cleaned the battery contacts as well. Tried the trigger with a battery, still flashes 3 times took off battery, separated the motor from the drive, it wasn’t hard, there was this thing that looked like a drill bit that came out of the drive with the motor. I think it’s what makes the impact do its thing. Then I took the fan end and pulled the motor out of its housing. It’s held in there by magnets/armature. Anyways I took a scotchbrite pad and started cleaning the outside of the motor, I thought well if I’m gonna clean everything I may as well do this too. When I put it back in its housing I pulled the trigger a bit and the motor made the tone it makes when you pull the trigger a bit and you get the little led light. I figured that was the problem and put er all back together and it works now. The only thing I had a hard time with was there was this spring that gave some resistance to the forward reverse switch, I had to put some grease to hold it in place so it would stay put while I was putting it back together. You may want to find some dielectric grease for that. Anyways hope this helps.
Among the 11 tools that 2767 was used 6 times and then it was dead. even kept in the original box inside the house to avoid any electrical issues. Never dropped or submerged. Light and click with the trigger. I did speak to them first and they were really nice in the US. They were going to have me drop it off for a looking at but 5 hour ride 1 way so had me ship it. I used it on my 3500 dually when I did brakes and can’t get the rear wheels loose now. I guess we’ll see how it turns out. Really not interested in paying to fix a tool used 6 times. Ready to get a backup gun for those labor day all are closed jobs now.
And there you have it. Tool was opened which proved it wasn’t ever dropped, submerged or used more than 6 times and always returned to the purchase box and kept indoors. Only recourse is to let them ship it back and charge me more money for shipping. I see absolutely no reason to pay another $175 for a job that should have already been done during manufacturing.
Guess a Milwaukee left me hanging video is on the rise.
Take care all.
Harbor freight here I come for an earthquake with a whole new warranty for less than the Milwaukee cos
t and 2500ftlbs to boot.
That’s a shame when you trust a company and they stick it to you. They are so big so do they really care?
