We don’t need no stinking glue! Most everything the Japanese make is quality including their buildings and structures. They use old school methods thought to them by their ancestors. Check out this way of connecting 2 beams. Thanks to Ricky McGrath for finding this one.

That was incredible. At first, it didn’t look like they would make the two planks meet up as tightly as they did. I’d enjoy seeing them do the earlier work where they made the cuts on the two pieces, aligning them so they met precisely. That’s craftsmanship.
