Introduction
Setting a toilet on a wax ring is a one-shot deal. If the flange sits too high, too low or the bowl isn’t lined up, you scrape the wax off and start over with a new ring. Our caption on this one said it all: we wish we’d had it when we renovated our bathroom.
The One-N-Done 200DS is a wax-free toilet seal kit. In our video, the One-N-Done team walked us through it.
What It Is
The big claim from the video: it’s the only toilet seal that adjusts automatically. The seal compresses to fit the gap between the toilet and the flange, so it works whether the flange sits close to the top of the floor or is buried below a wood or tile floor. The Amazon listing gives the range as about 3/8 in. above to 1-1/2 in. below the finished floor.
Because there’s no wax, the seal can be repositioned if you need to lift the toilet and set it again.
How It Goes In
The kit comes with its own bolts. They’re reinforced nylon and go on hand tight. After the toilet is set, you trim the extra bolt length with the diamond saw that comes in the kit, so the bolts are cut flush. Then a quarter-turn cap snaps straight on. No tools required, as they put it in the video.
The kit also includes lock nuts and shims.
