Introduction
Our editors walked out of the building with the Cub Cadet 2X 30 inch snow blower with EFI, electronic fuel injection. One host had never used it. The other promised one thing right away: it’s easy to start.

Cub Cadet has a huge range of snow blowers, and our editors consider it one of the best in the industry. At GIE that year they saw Cub Cadet’s new commercial equipment, and that technology is making its way into residential machines like this.

Cub Cadet 2X EFI Starting
It had sat in a roughly 50-degree building overnight. To start it, you turn it on, hear the electronic fuel injection kick in, wait for the green ready light, and pull. It should start on one pull.

Nobody believes it’s fuel injected when our editors show them, but it solves one big issue: starting. Cold or warm, it’s one pull. If you don’t want to pull, you can plug it in instead.
IntelliPower
IntelliPower ramps up the engine when it needs it. An on-screen note in the video says IntelliPower technology instantaneously provides up to 18% more power when it’s needed.

Who It’s For
If you’ve got a little sidewalk to clear, this isn’t the machine for you. There are plenty of single stage options. Our editors called this the Cadillac of snowblowers, with a lot of features. Not sure which type you need? See the snow blower vs. snow thrower guide.

The test area was some of the most uneven asphalt and stone around, full of dips, and it went through fine. Our editors think it will fly through 18 inches of snow. You can set it on speed one and walk, or go up to six if you want to go quicker.

This is an end of the storm tool. With some snow blowers, a 10 or 12 inch snowfall means going out three times. With this one, you can stay inside until the storm is over and clear it all at once.

Dealer Setup
You can order it online through what the host believes is called Dealer Direct. You set an appointment, the dealer fully assembles it and sets it up, and you just add gas.

Final Thoughts
Our editors think fuel injection takes gas engines to a whole new level. Everyone has struggled to start an engine in the cold. With the Cub Cadet 2X EFI, it’s one pull, do the work, and get back inside. To compare stages, see the snowblower reviews section, and read the electric vs. gas snow blowers guide.
