So it’s no secret that I love Klein screwdrivers. It’s something about the handles. The way they combine old school hard handle and a cushion grip so well. Or the hardened steel shafts with chrome plating. Or is it the way they fit into fasteners so perfectly?
Nut drivers are one of those tools that don’t get used as often as they should. 90% of the time, when I see a bolt or a nut, I instinctively reach into the socket drawer and grab a ratchet and socket. But loving Klein screwdrivers as much as I do, when I saw this set from Klein tools I just had to check it out:
Specs:
- Klein Seven Piece Nut Driver Set Model #631
- 3″ (76mm) full hollow shaft (with the exception of the 3/16 size, it is hollow, but not full length)
- Contains 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 11,32, 3/8, 7/16, and 1/2 sizes
- Ends of handles are color coded and have size printed for easy identification
- Made in the USA!!!
So, it’s no surprise here guys. Klein nut drivers are just a good as the screwdrivers. They fit on the work very well. With hollow shafts, they serve the duty of a deep socket, and go over threads on long bolts with ease. I was so impressed with this set that I also bought the 9/16 size as well as 5/8. While I only have the standard set currently, Klein offers an impressive assortment of standard and metric sets. Also magnetic sets, with rare earth magnets, so your fastener stays put!
On a final note, the term “Made in USA,” has special meaning to me. As an employee of the Ford Motor Company, I am fortunate enough to be blessed with a great job in manufacturing, that provides for my family. But this is far from the norm. Most companies are driven solely by profit, and have manufacturing facilities overseas because it’s cheaper. It’s easier. This makes good jobs like mine few and far between. Klein tools seems to have developed a refreshing philosophy. Make a quality tool, in America, for American tradesmen. I thank you Klein, and I wish more companies would follow in your footsteps.
Nice looking drivers. Good article Matt.
Thank you Richard F!
Thanks Matt,
Love Klein, have the 1/2″ and 7/16 in my toolbag 🙂
Used the 7/16 just the other day, lol. Thanks Tom!
Good job on the article and video! Klein makes some good tools, my electrician buddy has a ton of Klein stuff so I know it’s good
Yes it is! Thanks Javier!
Matt I couln’t agree with you more. When I see a nut I go for a socket or my set of bits with my drill. I tend to go for quick & fast. It should be slow & steady to complete the job at hand. I have the 631M which are the magnetic ones, plus some other brands. When I use them I do enjoy the quality. I do wish that I go to them more often. Laters TIA
Yo did you see mondays Youtube video?
