Simple Strap Review

Have you ever seen the Seinfeld where they talk about how toilet paper hasn’t changed much over the years?  Well, that is how I fell about tie-downs.  We only have a couple of options to secure loads.  We have Bungee, rope, ratcheting straps and quick rope systems.  Well, today we are going over something new to the market, the Simple Strap.  Simple Strap is a new way to secure loads so let’s jump into the Simple Strap Review.

Simple Strap Review Overview

Simple Strap is a cool invention that was developed by three friends out in Hawaii.  They wanted a simple solution to secure items to their car and that is when Simple Strap was born.  Now before I go on, these straps are designed for smaller loads, not if you’re hauling a car on a flatbed trailer across country.

Simple Strap is an all-purpose rubber tie-down.  The Simple Strap is self-gripping which means you don’t need any mechanical assistance when using this strap.  The strap is about 20′ long and can be cut to any lengths you need.  When stretched, you can stretch it to about 100′, which means you can do some serious work with a single strap.  A point to note, the more you wrap, the stronger it will be and the more it will hold. Since it’s rubber, it’s no-mar and this means you can secure gutters, white trim and more and not have to worry about it marking up the wood or metal gutters.

So why is it so simple?  There are no moving parts, knots to tie or hooks to get caught.  All you have to do is make sure the first and second wrap are in contact and they will hold together while you finish wrapping the rest of the load.  Once you wrap the load, just tuck the end through the last wrap.  Yes, it’s that easy.

If you are a homeowner or even a professional tradesman, these straps can benefit you and make your life easier. You can use these straps for so much including bundling lumber, securing ladders to ladder racks, use them as clamps, strap stuff to ATV’s and hundreds of more uses.

Simple Strap Review Features

Simple Strap comes in two thicknesses and three colors.  They offer a regular strap that is 2mm and 800 psi and then they offer a heavy-duty that is 3mm and 1000 psi.

The strap comes in either red, black or yellow.

As you can see the strap lays flat which makes it easy when wrapping a load or working with the strap.

The rubber strap does stretch and is easy to work with.

One thing I love about the strap is how wide it is.  The strap is about 1-9/16″ thick which means there is a lot of surface area per wrap.

Simple Strap Review Performance

I am currently remodeling so my day consists of running to The Home Depot picking up lumber, EMT pipe, PVC piping and so much more.  For me, I love having these straps as they are extremely easy to use and very quick.  There is nothing more annoying than putting everything in the back of the truck bed and then taking a turn and listening to the pipes and everything else move around.

I pretty much leave the Simple Strap attached to the tie-down in the truck and when I load something, I can quickly wrap it around the load and go.  Same thing when I get home, no more messing around with the ratcheting tie-down, releasing them and then wrapping them back up to put away in the truck.

I have to admit, I was skeptical at first when I heard about the straps.  But after using them, I can say they really do work.  I thought when they got wet or dirty, it would hinder their effectiveness, but they work in the water and even with some dirt on the straps.

The boys next door have an ATV so we attached a cooler and had them ride around to see how well it would hold the cooler.  Again, no issues with the straps.  They hold up and work as advertised.

The one thing I really like about the straps is no matter what shape or what material, the straps work.  From something simple as this fan to woodworking to simple organization, the straps have so many uses and work great.

Simple Strap Review Value

You can pick up Simple Strap on Amazon for $29.94 for two straps or $44.91 for three straps.  If you are looking for a single strap, you can check out the Simple Strap website where you can get a regular strap for about $16 and a heavy-duty for about $18.

Personally I don’t think these are priced all that bad.  In fact, I think it’s a pretty good deal considering I can cut them to any size I want, they can be reused and best of all, they are easy to use and store away when not in use.

Simple Strap Review Final Thoughts

Overall, I think this is a great product.  I like the quality and ease of use.  It’s simple and has a good price point.  Anyone looking for a quick and easy solution to strapping loads to their car or truck, this is a great option.
