What is Sugru? That was the question I had when I first heard the name. After doing a little research, I found out it was a pretty cool product. Sugru is a pliable putty that turns to a rubber after 24 hours. How many things have you tossed in the garbage because they were broken? Now I know this sounds like an infomercial, but with Sugru, you can now fix most of those items. Sugru works with aluminum, steel, ceramics, glass, wood and certain fabrics. It is even dishwasher safe, waterproof, UV resistant and will work with small electrical loads such as your iphone cable, which by the way is what we did in the video below.
I have to say this is a great product and if you don’t believe me, check out all the positive reviews on Amazon. In order to fix something, all you have to do is roll it in your hands, mold it into whatever you want fixed and wait 24 hours for it to cure into rubber. I have to say this is pretty cool. The only downside for me is in the multi-pack, you get two reds, two yellows, two blues, one black and one white. I would like to see more white and black as those tend to be the colors I would fix more items with such as my cell phone cords. Not a huge deal, but one to note. Once you open a pack, you have to use it within 30 minutes. One other note is this does have a shelf life of about a year, so if you do buy it, make sure you check the date. I am sure Amazon sells so much, you don’t have to worry about getting an out of date pack. Plus, you can store it in the fridge to double the shelf life.
