Bosch just made my day. I am a huge fan of compact drills. Yes I like lots of power, but the fact is I don’t need large amounts of power most of the time, so why deal with the extra weight? I have been using the Dewalt compact for a while and love it. However that is the only Dewalt cordless tool I really have. So in reality it has been more of a pain to have extra batteries around. On the other hand I do own multiple Bosch tools. Before I forget, yes this is brushless.
I have been using Bosch ever since I first got into construction in 1992 right when Chicago had their major flood. I have always owned a Bulldog. All I can say is I really think I heard concrete cry once when I brought out a Bulldog.
What We Like
- Compact
- Lots of Power
- Feels great and has the perfect balance
- Separate sleeve for Hammer Mode
What We Don’t Like
- Soft Case
- We are split on the plastic chuck. Eric doesn’t have a problem with the chuck, Dan would rather see metal

Nice drill, I think with modern materials and production techniques a plastic chuck isn’t that much of a disadvantage. The internals of the chuck are still metal and in this case it’s a Jacobs chuck so you know it’s going to be quality!
Eric thanks for the specs on the new Bosch compact hammer. I’m actually the oppisite. I have DeWalt cordless tools and a Bosch circular saw, which I like by the way. I would love to get a few more Bosch cordless tools, but I can’t justify spending the dough on something that I already have in another brand. I don’t have the cash to own several drills or any other cordless tool for that matter. My brothers father in law is a carpentar & all he uses is Bosch tools. He has a big collection. I’ll continue to use my Bosch circular saw & may buy an extra battery only. I also have the DeWalt cordless & corded, but I like to use the Bosch, for some reason it feels better. Laters TIA
Very Nice – Does it come in Yellow & Black ?, lol
Think I’m having an attack of Deja Vu, wasn’t this review released already, or did I dream it ? 😉
On a separate track – I bought a new “Johnnie 7” Speed Square the other day and I was reading a review on their website Johnsonlevel.com, and lo and behold, Here’s ol’ Dan Maxey with a review, you guys get around lol
