Roborock Saros Rover takes robotic vacuums to the next level – literally

CES smart home trends roborock saros

Roborock continues to lead the charge in robot vacuums. Saros Rover represents a groundbreaking evolution in home robotics, featuring the world’s first two-wheel-leg architecture that combines the efficiency of wheels with the mobility of legs. Each wheel-leg can move independently, allowing the robot to raise, lower, and adjust its height, perform small jumps, execute agile turns, and maintain a level body on uneven surfaces.

Powered by advanced AI algorithms, 3D spatial mapping, and precise motion sensors, the Saros Rover can understand its environment in real time and react. This design enables it to navigate complex multi-story homes, clean each step of traditional, curved, or carpeted staircases, and tackle slopes and multi-level thresholds, dramatically reducing “no-go” zones.

While still in development with an unconfirmed launch date, the Saros Rover promises to redefine what a robotic vacuum can achieve, bringing human-like adaptability to autonomous cleaning.

LG’s CLOiD Home Robot provides vision of a “zero labor home”

CES smart home trends LG CLOiD home robot

LG’s CLOiD, unveiled at CES 2026, is LG’s first AI-enabled home robot designed to assist with everyday chores like folding laundry, light baking, and interacting with other smart devices.

At the showroom, CLOiD folded dish towels, carefully placed croissants into the oven, and retrieved a jug of milk. While there were limitations to CLOiD’s abilities—folded methodically but slowly, it didn’t close the oven door, or pour the milk—it was an impressive example of a shift in robotic function to more human-like and autonomous. Impressively, it also coordinated with other devices, directing a robot vacuum to clean a patch of dirt it “noticed” on the floor, an early example of how robots may begin to handle routine household activities with increasing autonomy.

While still a concept with no release date, CLOiD represents a potential turning point in home robotics, signaling LG’s entry into the multifunctional home robot market and hinting that other major appliance brands may soon follow.

DREO’s TurboCool™ misting fans redefine personal cooling for warmer months

CES smart home trends DREO TurboCool misting fans

DREO’s new TurboCool™ misting fans are great innovation as we head into the warmer months of 2026. Their ultrasonic misting creates ultra-fine particles that evaporate almost instantly, cooling the air without leaving surfaces wet. Meet Dreo’s New Turbo Misting Fan Series – a cooling mister, fan, and humidifier. The TurboCool™ technology is a step beyond anything I’ve seen in personal indoor cooling. Using ultrasonic misting, it generates ultra-fine 17µm particles that evaporate almost instantly, delivering rapid cooling without any dampness. The airflow is impressive, too—the 765S flagship moves air efficiently for whole-room coverage, while the compact 516S and outdoor 711AS extend TurboCool™ across smaller spaces and patios. Seeing the mist dissipate before hitting the floor made me appreciate how this balances comfort with indoor dryness, something most fans struggle to achieve.

DREO’s TurboCool™ misting fans are expected to launch spring 2026 and will be available through the DREO site and major retailers.
