Drills under $80

Are you like me?  I wait until like 3 days before Christmas and everything is sold out.  I have put together a list for someone who is a handyman, pro or just genuinely loves tools. These are my personal picks. Sure you can get cheaper drills but these are 2 or the best for you buck and will make any one who needs a drill happy. Click on the links to check out the Amazon reviews of these tools.  So lets talk about what I think are the best budget drills.

Drill – Homeowner

Autosense Drill

Black and Decker 20V Autosense under $70 on Amazon – It is rare that an innovative new technology is put into a tool and works.  The Autosense not only works, it works well.  The drill is powerful ergonomic and simple to operate.  The Autosense feature makes even the most novice user a pro and properly torques the screw every-time.  With 20V power even a pro would appreciate this tool. Our review of the Autosense.

Drill – Professional

Porter cable Drill

PORTER-CABLE PCC606LA 20-Volt 1/2-Inch Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver One Battery Kit – $79 on Amazon

PORTER-CABLE PCC606LA 20-Volt 1/2-Inch Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver Kit Two Battery Kit – $140 on Amazon – Think of the Prosumer Porter Cable 20V drill as a DeWalt that went to the dark-side.  Apart from its StarWars looks, the drill is a tough budget workhorse.  The PC is tough and powerful drill and will hold its own on most any job site.

  1. Love the Black and Decker Autosense drill. During this time of year you can also pick up the Craftsman 20 volt Bolt-On starter kit that comes with charger, one battery and the drill that’s also under 80 dollars.

  2. Love my black and Decker 12 volt drill. Good quality for a fraction of cost compared to dewalt, Milwaukee, etc. I will probably be ordering the 20 volt black and Decker drill. Thanks for the heads up tools in action!

  3. I would also add Ryobi to this list just because they have every tool you can pretty much think of on the One+ 18v battery platform. Other than that the other choices are better as Dan mentioned. I keep on trying to get rid of my Ryobi tools but they are like a an awesome disease that gives you cool Awesome tools that no one else has for really great prices

  4. I have quite a few tools from the Porter cable 20v series. every one of them has been great and I get alot of use from them with the 4.0ah batteries available.

Im hoping to find a deal on the new hammer drill they are bringing out.
