Black and Decker has been releasing some cool tools recently, it started with the Gyro screwdriver which I didn’t post about (my Bad) However Toolguyd posted about it here and it looks awesome! Today they announced a 12V max driver with the MATRIX™ Quick Connect System. It is sort of like the RIDGID JobMax™ but with a pistol grip handle. They also got creative with the battery placement by putting the 12v pack on its side making a platform base that the tool can stand up on. Available in cordless 20v Max, 12v Max and AC configurations. The tool can be turned into a circular saw, sander, router, impact driver, jigsaw and even a multi tool.
It may be a huge hit in the DIY marketplace. Obviously not a pro or “prosumer” level tool but like Stuart said, it will probably fly off the shelves at Christmas.
