Drill bits are hard to get excited about or even talk about. The reason being is because you really have to use a bit to appreciate how well built a bit can be and how efficient it can make you. The one thing we all know about bits is you can have the most powerful tool in the word, but if you have crappy bits, it doesn't do you any good. Let me introduce you to the WoodOwl Bits. If you have heard of them, you know they are quality and probably think they cost twice as much as the competition. While you're right about the quality, they are not twice the price. They are very competitive in price. If you are new to these bits, let me give you a little background. They are a company who has been around since the 1920's, so they know what they are doing. These bits are made in Japan, so you know the quality is top notch. They check these bits over and over before they get ready to be sold.
I am not going to go into all the different bits they offer because they do have a large variety of bits. However I do want to cover the smooth bit and nail chipper bit. The nailer chipper bit is great and works like a charm. Without going too much into the bit, it is designed to chip away at the nail so you don't get that grabbing effect that you get with other bits. Plus, this gives you a nice clean hole. Speaking of clean holes, the smooth bit will give you a great clean hole when you desire that type of hole. These bits are not painted, they actually have a Teflon coating to help with chip ejection. If you don't want a blow out when you come through the wood, this is the bit for you. It starts easy and creates a nice clean hole.
I could go on and on, but check out the video below or their website for more information. Bottom line these are well built bits with a lot of thought and hard work that goes into these bits. If you think a bit is just a bit, think again.
