We haven’t done a whole lot of Black and Decker on TIA, but the items we have tried, we have liked. Black and Decker is designed for the homeowner. As a homeowner, you are not using your tools everyday, so why spend a lot of money only for the tool to sit on the shelf. So as you can image, Black and Decker tools have a low price point. However don’t let the price fool you because you do get a great bang for your buck.
Black and Decker has been expanding their 20V line of tools and today, it just got one tool bigger with the addition of the 20V jigsaw. This jigsaw works with the existing 20V batteries, so don’t need to worry about having to invest in a whole new line. The motor puts out 2,500 strokes per minute which means you can cut through material at a faster rate. One great feature about this tool is the tool free blade changing system. Makes it easy to change blades for different materials. Another feature is the built in dust blower. Following a line can be hard with jigsaws as the dust and debris always seem to cover up the line. With the dust blower, it pretty much much makes sure your line is visible. As you would expect, the tool does has a variable trigger which is perfect for those situations where control is crucial. If that isn’t enough, let me throw one more feature your way. The saw can do bevel cuts. Unfortunately, you do need the on board hex key in order to adjust the shoe. A tool free change system would have been much nicer.
For a homeowner jigsaw, this is pretty nice. It has a lot of bells and whistles to make any cut much easier. While an adjustable shoe would have been nice, I really can’t complain too much for the price.
Good option for them to add into their lineup. My brother in law used black and decker and enjoys their products, they aren’t too bad if your not a heavy user. Every now and again I’ll bring something over the one of his black and decker so can’t handle well.
