Overview
The outside needs a lot of work. The house is layered in a Cedar shake with a 2-4 reveal. The outside hasn’t been kept up much so there is rotten wood that needs to be replaced. Since we have moved in we have rebuilt the chimney and did some tuckpointing.
Goal
We want to give the house a nice curb appeal and a warm feeling. The house was built in 1924 and is considered a California Bungalow style house.
Work to be Completed
- New Windows
- New Cedar Shake
- replace old wood
- Spray foam walls
Fence - Replaced old fence
Removed back room since it was sinking - Ready for addition
New Roof
The roof was installed in early 8o’s and was a 3 tab shingle. We replaced all the soffits & supports. Above the front porch, the decking was bad, so we replaced the decking. At the time we also replaced the joist. We replaced them with 2×6 instead of the 2×4 that was already installed. We installed ice & water shield over the whole roof. We used architectural shingles and used copper flashing around the gutter.
