My favorite thing about fall is that the mosquitoes go back to Hell. My least favorite thing is that the boxelder bugs take their place. Are you too finding boxelder bugs in your home, in your car, on your clothes, overtaking your garage, and you’re just about to lose it? If so, perfect. Because we figured out how to get rid of boxelder bugs and all the other annoying fall pests. And best of all, we get to use our Mosquito Sniper System (MSS) to do it.
We recently met with Ryan, the inventor of MSS. He showed us how we can get rid of boxelder bugs along with spiders, stink bugs, centipedes, silverfish, and all of bugs and pests that show up this time of year.
How to Get Rid of Boxelder Bugs
In this quick TIA Instagram video Dan shows off Ryan using his MSS to spray the side of his house with soapy water. Because the MSS works with your preferred blower, the mister has no issue reaching the roofline on this second-story house. This method makes it really easy to treat all the areas that boxelders can use to get inside your home.
Soapy water is a cheap and effective way to kill boxelder bugs. Some of our commenters mentioned their own success stories of soapy water killing the majority of boxelder bugs instantly and the rest within 10 seconds of spray.
How to Make Your Own Soapy Water Solution
To make your own soapy water solution you just need a two percent soap-to-water solution, which comes out to about two teaspoons of dish soap for every pint of water.
Soapy water solutions are good for eliminating smaller insects. This extends to earwigs, smaller spiders, and so on.
Fall Pest Control
Did you know that fall is one of the most important times of year to spray for bugs? The drop in temperature causes a lot of bugs to seek warmth. That pushes them into your home for you to deal with all fall and winter long. Treating your home when the temperature starts to drop is the best time to prevent these cold weather invaders.
In fact, treating your home in the fall can prevent or minimize spring infestations.
How Mosquito Sniper System Gets Rid of Boxelder Bugs
If you’re not familiar, MSS allows you to connect a blower and a tank sprayer to create your own professional-grade mist blower. While the product’s original use is targeted at mosquito spraying, it can be used for so much more.
MSS can be used to mist any liquid. This is how Dan and Ryan were able to mist their own homemade soapy water solution to kill boxelder bugs. This flexibility extends to other homemade or commercial formulas.
To get started with MSS users you can choose from two systems: The MSS Full Tank System comes with a tank sprayer for users who don’t already have one, and the MSS Universal Adapter Set is for users who already do.
Both systems cost around $60 and free you from the costs of relying on professional spray services.
More Ways to Use Mosquito Sniper System
Stay tuned because Ryan will be back to show us another way to use MSS this winter.
