Zero Trace LED Flashlight model TL1KPZ

Who doesn’t like flashlights?  To me it’s amazing how many flashlights are on the market today.  You can buy anything from a $2 junk light all the way up to premium expensive flashlights.  Today I am going to introduce you to a flashlight I had never heard about until Dan told me about them.  This is the Zero Trace LED flashlight that has a design inspired by a Navy Seal.  I have to say it’s a unique flashlight.

When you first look at the light, you will notice that the handle is rather narrow, which at first, I thought I wouldn’t like.  However after handling this light, I now tend to like the smaller handle.  The light is an aluminum waterproof IPX8 housing with a waterproof depth up to 6′.  On the bottom of the handle is where you can turn on the 1014 lumens Cree LED light.  The light has three different settings, high, low and SOS.

Here is the cool thing about the light, well a couple of things.  First, the light uses a rechargeable battery, so no more spending a boat load of money on batteries.  You can just plug the battery in the provided home or car charger and let the light charge.  The battery should hold a charge for up to 12 months.  The USB plug hides away when not in use.  Speaking of a USB plug, it does more than just the option of charging the battery.  The USB port is a two way port which means you can also charge your cell phone or tablet, so you have portable power.  Now we didn’t test this, but according to Zero Trace you can charge your phone two times or your tablet one time when the flashlight battery is fully charged.

The light has a 1 year warranty and also comes with a home and car charger.  The light sells for about $78 on Amazon.  It’s a hefty price for a light, but I do have to say this is a high quality light and worth the money if you need a durable, dependable and bright light.

  1. I have a zero trace flashlight and it has started giving me trouble, like going dead when I know it was just charged. Works for a little bit then starts doing it again. Now it’s to the point where I can’t even walk 30ft and it goes out. It’s not quite a year old yet but I no longer have the receipt. Any ideas of what could be wrong?
I loved it when it was new and working.

    • That is weird. I would contact the company. Even though you don’t have the receipt, some companies will still help you out. Mine is still working and haven’t heard of that problem, so not sure how to trouble shoot it.

  2. My flashlight won’t come on unless I plug it in and then once I do it only stays on when I first plug it in and once the light turns blue it goes back off.

  3. January 3 2017 I bought a zero trace flashlight last September 2016 for the hunting season when I was going to used flashlight will not turn on, I try to recharge the flashlight but dis not work. It is a brand new flashlight never been used, I had tried to recharge it again still does not work. Where do I need to send it to be checked, or what do I need to do. It is a brand new flashlight.

  4. Absolutely worthless flashlight. My flashlight did the same as Dylon’s, Leslie’s and Ricardo’s. Can’t even find the manufacturer online to ask questions about it. Battery will not hold a charge and can’t find a replacement anywhere.

  5. My problem with this flashlight—-It works on all three settings but the flasher setting is dim–I have tried to call the phone number on the packaging but no answer. This light is 2-3 years old and I use it quite often and was wanting to know if I can get the 3rd setting replaced.Up to this point this light has worked like a champ!Does anyone have any ideas on this matter?

  6. My light is about 9 months old and will come on for about 7 seconds and goes back out! I loved the light when it worked but the worst $70 I’ve ever spent! No abuse an water just coming out of the woods and with no notice starts this crap! Can’t find the receipt as most it worked a no need to keep up with the receipt. I do not recommend this to anyone. I can’t find who makes the light or how to return it? If anyone has that info please share!!

  7. I have two of the lights. One is Ozark mtn an the other is zero trace. Like others I cannot find new Batts or any response from manufacturer. I went to Batts plus. They had no rechargable Batts. You can stack 4 of the 123 batts an it will work
They are expensive an won’t charge. They had two Batts you could put together. Less power

  8. I have the exact same battery problem.
I called Stanley who then sends you to Baccus for questions and answers on Stankey flashlights.
Gentleman told me they do not carry replacement batteries and that you have to outsource them(sad).
Called several lithium battery outlet companies. They had me pull the blue coating off and photograph. After their evaluation, the manufacturer in Korea made the connections themselves to the (2) 1860 batteries.
You can buy the 1860 batteries but without the cylinder stacked connections.
This make this flashlight a piece of 80 dollar junk.
    DO NOT BUY!

  9. I’d definitely purchase flashlights from fenix store, the batteries last longer than other brands and their products are of a high quality.
