Paslode F350S – 50th Anniversary Edition

When you think of Paslode, you automatically think of cordless gas powered nailers because after all, they invented them. What you may not know is that they were pioneers in the pneumatic nailer market as well. Paslode started out in 1935 selling steel strapping for bundling materials, but it was in 1959 with the introduction of the first pneumatic tool, a light duty upholstery tacker, that they started developing into the company we know today. In 1964 Paslode introduced the “first commercially accepted pneumatic nailer”, called “The Gun-Nailer” and never looked back. Today there is hardly a framing crew in...

Powernail 2000 20 Gage Nailer Review

I can’t say I have installed thousands of hardwood floors, but I have done quite a few.  When it comes to click and lock or engineered flooring, I haven’t done too many.  I do know that dealing with the glue or the hollow sounds of click and lock and engineered flooring can be a huge deterrent from installing them.  Well things have changed.  A large company approached one of the top brand nailers, Powernail, and said they needed a way to give alternative ways to install their flooring.  That’s when Powernail developed the 20 gage 2000. If you are...

Each time someone would use the Powerpalm they had a smile on their face and said WOW.  It...

PowerNail Flex 50P – What the Pro’s Use

One of the perks of Tools In Action is that we can usually get our hands on any tool that we want.  So when I decided to start our wood floor project I wanted the best flooring tools I could find.  First I checked the net, then asked some experts and finally I just called a few tool rental places and asked what they rent.  I did this because newbie DIY users are hard on floor nailers,  Think about it, it is a tool that you constantly hit with a hammer so rental stores want one that lasts.  Everything...

Campbell Hausfeld Nailer

Campbell Hausfeld Overview Well, this has been one of our longest reviews.  Over three months in the making.  Usually with our reviews we can wrap them up in a couple of weeks with all the different tests and runs on a jobsite or two.  The Campbell Hausfeld was different.  The reason being is while this nailer has all the fancy options a professional nailer needs, its also designed for the homeowner.  After we tried the nailer, we were very impressed and actually thought this could be used by the professional.  So we took it to a non union site and let one of the carpenters run it for a week.  While it was hard for him to put his Makita down, he agreed.  After a week, he basically wanted to keep it.  At this point we knew it wasn’t just us who saw something more in this nailer.  We decided to bring it to a few more jobsites and a couple more homeowners to get more feedback on this nailer. The model number for our review of the Campbell Hausfeld finish nailer is CHN70699AV.  This nailer uses a 15 gauge nail from 1″ to 2-1/2″ nails.  As we stated, this nailer comes with all the bells and whistles.  There is a built in laser for greater accuracy when nailing.  Even a stud finder helps the user place the nails in the correct locations. ...
