New DeWALT 40V MAX Yard Tools Spotted on DeWALT.com

Well yellow fans rejoice, DeWALT has some interesting yard tools they just posted on their website.  I am very excited to get my hands on these.  Thanks to Samuel L and DR99 in the Power Tool Forum for finding this.

The new tools are:

DCST990M1 – 40V MAX XR 15″ Brushless String Trimmer
Weighs 13 lbs

DCBL790M1 – 40V MAX 4AH Brushless Blower
4 Amps, 400 CFM and 120 MPH weighs 9.6lbs

DCHT860M1 – 40V MAX 22″ Hedge Trimmer
22″ blade 3/4″ cutting capacity weighs 11.9 lbs

It will be interesting to see how well the professionals take to this new electric-powered equipment. Professional landscapers have been apprehensive to use electric tools because they just don’t provide the run time or power as their gas counterpart.  However for areas where noise is an issue these tools could be the difference between getting the job or not.  Will these new tools give the more powerful 56V EGO tools a run for their money?

The tools have a 3 year warranty.  For more visit DeWALT

  1. they look really awesome, the string trimmer looks remarkably similar to the Ego, I hope these are released in Canada, I’m in the market for a cordless blower but I don’t like the Ego, it feels a bit cheap and plasticky to me but the DeWalt looks good!

  2. I was shocked to see Dewalt make a move into making outdoor power equipment. It looks like it will be top quality stuff lots of rubber over mold and brushless motors. Dewalt isn’t messing around with these babies.

  3. Looks cool EXCEPT I feel they would have some more success IF they used an adapter plate like makitas 2x18v=36v. Reason being is I don’t have to have a different charger and I can increase my regular tool battery count by 2. Or if I already have a drill combo with 2 batteries I could work on my yard for twice the amount of time if I already had the 3.0ah batteries.
Overall I think it’s cool though, I just feel Makita had a great idea but left the bags at the door with their 36v tools.

  4. I’ve been waiting for a DeWalt blower. Not too excited about having to buy a new battery, but if it performs well I’m ok with it.

  5. No way!! Now I have to wait till I see a review on these bad boys. I was leaning towards Ryobi, but now I need to wait. Thanks guys. Laters TIA
