In 2009 we did a review of the Milwaukee worklight.  Back then we liked the light and we still do today.  The biggest difference was the addition of the LED light.

Overview

All manufacturers have some sort of a worklight, but some are truly better than others.  Having the right worklight is essential to help create a better work environment for the user, which brings us to the Milwaukee Worklight model number 49-24-0146.

The Milwaukee is powered by their M12 Lithium-ion line of batteries.  The light weighs only .9 lbs. and the overall length is 8.5″.  As we noted we did a review about two years ago and the biggest knock we had was that Milwaukee decided to use an incandescent bulb instead of an LED light.  Well we would like to say Milwaukee took our advice, but I am sure there were other factors involved.  The biggest difference is this model uses an LED light which has 160 lumen which provides a nice white light that is two times brighter than a traditional incandescent light.

Milwaukee still uses a sealed alumium head which is impact and weather resistant, always a plus on any jobsite.  The head pivots 90 degrees making it easy for the user to adjust the light in any direction.  To turn on the light there is a push button switch on the body of the light.  Right above the on/off switch, there is a magnetic square which allows the user to attach this light to any metal object for added options.

Conclusion

We still like this worklight as we did back in 2009.  We like the fact that Milwaukee went with an LED light.  The worklight is lightweight and has a wide beam which lights up a wide work area.

  1. I was hoping you would tell me! I dropped mine and the original bulb broke. I am thinking about getting the LED replacement bulb but have heard mixed reviews. I saw what you guys did to the husky light. LEDs can take a hit!
