Ridgid offers a very nice 24V Lithium Ion battery for their combo kits, which is more than most kits, but less than the Milwaukee V28. The 24V has a lot of power and will do all most anything you want. They still offer a 18V Ni-Cad in their combo kits. You can see the difference between Lithium Ion and Ni-cad here .
I have never used the 24V combo kit, but have used the Ridgid tools numerous times. My personal opinion is they feel nice in your hand, have good balance and good power. I like their Cordless combo kits as they provide all the common power tools in the kit. They have the best warranty around, lifetime on batteries and parts, but certain limitations apply, so look into that. Over all, if you can get a good deal, Ridgid tools are worth looking at, as they compete well against other brands.
Ridgid Combo Kits come in a couple different options. One major option is the 24V Lithium Ion kit. They also offer an 18V in a 3 piece and 6 piece. Before you just go buy a combo kit, think about what you will be using the tools for. That way, you won’t spend extra money.
