Husky Flashlight

When it comes to flashlights, what is a guy to do? For instance, go and browse flashlights on Amazon and you will find flashlights that range anywhere from $5 to nearly $700. So, what’s a guy to do when searching for the best flashlight? Well, the first thing I’m going to suggest is going with your standard “stick flashlight”. From there I look for something durable, like these “unbreakable” aluminum Husky flashlights that I am sharing with you today.

Husky released five new stick flashlights. These Husky flashlights contain anywhere from 90 to 1,000 lumens, and the sizes range from you standard stick flashlight to small enough to fit in your pocket.

What makes these Husky flashlights unique is that they are made from a durable aluminum and are designed to be unbreakable.

Alright, let’s check out the flashlights in this lineup.

Husky Unbreakable Aluminum Flashlights

If you are not familiar with Husky, it’s Home Depot’s house brand. Husky is designed to get the job done for less. Husky’s goal is to create a quality product at a reasonable price.

So how do these husky Flashlights stack up?

Husky LED Flashlights

Husky FlashlightWhen Husky designed these flashlights, they set out to design an extremely tough flashlight that won’t break the bank. They started with an aluminium body and went with an LED light instead of an incandescent bulb. All the flashlights have one LED except the 1,000 lumens has three LED lights.

An LED light gives you a more true white light than the traditional yellow light. Not only do you get a better looking light, but you get a tougher light that won’t break on impact like an incandescent bulb will.

An LED light also is more efficient, so you get a longer run time. Another plus is the heat. You do not get the heat build up with an LED that you get with an incandescent bulb.

As far as bulbs go, Husky went with the top of the line type of lighting solution.

LED Flashlight Fun Fact:

Husky Flashlights: incandescent bulbs vs LED

Have you seen the first season of Stranger Things? If so, you might recall that in some flashlight scenes that some flashlights emit a yellow light while the other flashlights emit a white light. This was a production error where the assortment of flashlights were a mix of incandescent bulbs and LED.

While LED flashlights are not accurate to the era Stranger Things is based in, this mistake is a great display of traditional incandescent flashlights and LED flashlights.

Heavy-Duty Aluminum

In regards to the body, aluminium is not only strong, but is much lighter than steel. As a result these aluminum flashlights are lighter than older, traditional-style flashlights.

The aluminum body has a slit pattern, so it’s not smooth. This pattern helps with grip, even with gloves.

Husky didn’t stop with the bulb and the body.  Next they designed the Husky Flashlight with an over-molded rubber on the front of the light and also on the rear of the light. These are usually the two most common places a flashlight will hit when dropped on the ground. This offers another form of protection to the lights.

Husky Flashlight Durability

Husky created some tough flashlights when they made these. As you can see in our TIA video, we tried a lot of different things to break these Husky flashlights. We tested them in a variety of conditions and the Husky flashlights held-up in each of our torture tests.

Check out our TIA Video on Husky flashlights.

Husky Waterproof Flashlights

Husky created these flashlights to be waterproof in up to one meter of water, which is about 3 feet. So, no worries if you are using these outside in the rain or accidentally drop in a small pool of water.

How-to-use Your Husky Flashlights

To turn the Husky flashlights on, there is a recessed push button on the bottom of the flashlight. Each Husky flashlight has three modes: High, low and strobe.

Husky Flashlight Value & Warranty

One item I like about these lights is the batteries are included.  They don’t just toss is some off brand battery, they are included with Energizer batteries, which are some of the best batteries around.

Again, these unbreakable aluminum Husky flashlights comes in five models.  The highest price you will pay for this type of flashlight is $35 and that is for the 1,000 lumen flashlight. Not bad considering this flashlight has a lifetime warranty from Husky.

  1. I just spent $85 on the Olight s30r baton II and i would love to see how these lights compare. The Olight is designed for an EDC platform and not so much industry but its 1020 lumens at max output and is less than 4 inches long

  2. Mine wont work had it about a year its the 500 lumen 7′ model.Bought it from home depot i see that it has a lifetime warranty any advice on how to get it repaired. Thanks

  3. I have one of your flashlights and the button went out you said you have a lifetime warranty how do I go about getting it fixed or buying a new one from you guys thank you

  4. We really like your flashlights and were disappointed to learn that you no longer make the 3-D size / 1000 Lumens one. It outlasted any other flashlight we gave to our night security men and it was bright. It was heftier than most flashlights and the batteries in it (which were easier to purchase here than AAs) lasted longer. I tried to have it replaced but was told that I would only be getting a smaller variety instead. What a disappointment. Please reconsider that decision.

  5. Saw the husky flashlights , what’s the price for the 650 flashlight , can’t find them . Home Depot don’t sell them anymore

  6. Looking for warranty for my husky model 99291 flashlight! Dropped it the other day and landed on I don’t know what but the lens got so messed up it effects the light. Is there a replacement lens, and if so how do you take the lens out? Love the flashlight, and at my age all the light I can get out of a light the better. Appreciate any help with my situation. Thanks

  7. I have a Husky 5000 lumens II Dual Power. I purchased the item last November. I am the only operator the light. Also, I purchased it at Sport Academy in Killeen Texas, but they no longer the flashlight nor will they honor the warranty. The button to turn the light on and off stop working period. I love the light and would like to have a replacement. Thank you and looking forward from him
