CRKT Realtree K480CXP Knife

6

This was a huge surprise to me.  This was my first CRKT knife.  I have heard they were great knives, but when I first opened it, I have to say I was disappointed.  The knife felt lightweight and wasn’t what I was expecting.  Then I opened the knife and that is when I saw the light come down from above and the soft voices sing.  Well maybe that was an exaggeration, but it did impress me.  After researching the knife, I understood why the knife felt lightweight.  Not because it was cheap, but because it was built that way.  It was built for being lightweight, but tough.

For the price of the knife, it is a quality knife and one that I think will surprise you. Easy to open, fits nice in my hands and easy to close.

  1. I’m like Dan, I seem to have an unerring ability to cut myself with a folding knife! CRKT are a quality knife company, I own 2 and have abused one of them while I worked in Afghanistan and it’s still as tight and sharp (i sharpen it regularly) as it ever was!

  2. In all reality Dan just shouldn’t be aloud to touch ANY knife! Have you guys tried out Milwaukee’s new knife?(after about two weeks of ownership I am still pleases with it)

  3. Looks EXACTLY like the Kershaw Blur Just a subtle difference in the blade angle.

I love the Kershaw blur and ken onion designs. kinda conflicted on how I feel about it. I’m sure the Kershaw feel about it.

Anyways I’m sure it’s a great knife just like the Kershaw.

  4. CRKT knives are cool in design & this one looks nice. In this category of knives I lean more towards the Kershaws. I find them more to my style that I’m into for EDC. I also prefer the Ka-Bar folders as well. I do have a couple of CRKT neck knives (Ritter RSK MK5 (small 2in blade) & Onion Skinner), & Eat’n Tool (neat multi-tool for camping basically a spork). I like how you are growing into becoming a knife aficionado. BTW, keep the these sharp things away from Dan. Laters TIA
