Ridgid 200 psi 4.5 Gallon Electric Compressor OF45200SS

Ridgid is at it again with a brand new air compressor, the OF45200SS.  If you look at what Ridgid is touting with the air compressor, you might not believe it.  I was also reading some of the online reviews and people did think some of these claims were off, so when we talk about this compressor I will go over those claims and information. First, let me tell you about this compressor.  The compressor is a 200 psi 4.5 gallon compressor.  200 psi is a lot for the size of this unit.  Also with 200 psi, you can do a...

Ridgid Gen5X 18-Volt Brushless Vacuum R86090B

What can I say about Ridgid?  I like to call them the hidden gem of the tool world.  I think there are a lot of people in the world that overlook them.  All most every tool we have tried for them is high-quality tools.  In fact, when we have tool fights, Ridgid is always one of the top performers.  So with that said, today we are going to look at the Ridgid wet/dry handheld 18V vacuum. The Ridgid vacuum is a wet vacuum which means it can pick up water or other liquids.  As you can see, the canister...

Wounded Vet Program – Rob Cosman

I found out about the wounded vet program after signing up for an online woodworking class with Rob Cosman.  You can see the full review by clicking here. Rob has been instrumental in a program to help our wounded/disabled veterans.  It has been found that woodworking provides therapy in both a physical and mental capacity for those that have sacrificed so much. In an effort to help, Rob provides a lifetime membership to his online hand tool workshop to any wounded/disabled veteran at no cost. Furthermore, when a non veteran signs up for both online workshops and pays for an entire year, Rob will add the power tool workshop to a vets membership giving them full access to both courses for free. Rob also donates a portion of his saw sales to the program as well. I cannot begin to cover the amount of people who have contributed to make this program possible. There are a multitude of contributors including an anonymous one nicknamed “Santa Claus” who has donated tens of thousands of dollars. There are many other people have made large financial contributions as well to get these vets to the workshops. This includes the cost of the workshop, hotel, food and travel. They often try to send them home with tools to get started as well. Thank you ! So first and most important. Veterans, THANK YOU...

Robert Sorby vs. Fast Cap Chisel

I am sure you are thinking this is like comparing a KIA to a Lamborghini and you might be correct, but we needed something to use as a reference 🙂 I have owned a complete set FastCap chisels for a few years.  When I initially reviewed them I focused on the folding handle, because that is what made it unique.  I was (and still am) amazed you can chop wood using a big hammer with these things and then fold them up and put them in your pocket.  I have not used them much, and to be honest I...

Rob Cosman Online Workshop Training

Earlier this year I ran across  a Youtube video by a woodworker named Rob Cosman. This particular video shows how he builds custom dovetail saws which are available for sale on his site. If you are interested, the video can be found here.  I was intrigued by this video which led to watching a few more.  As it turns out Rob is a woodworking instructor that holds workshops and teaches woodworking primarily using hand tools. These courses are a week long (approx 60 hours). Unfortunately, this is not something I have time for and to be honest I am more of a power tool woodworker, or more accurately a “hybrid” woodworker anyway. While I was checking out these workshops I noticed he had online versions available as follows: Hand and Power Tool Workshop 3 half-hour episodes per week (Mon, Weds, Fri) Complete furniture making from start to finish Every step is detailed, very little editing Online forum to ask questions to Rob and community Hand Tool Workshop 2 half-hour episodes per week (Tues & Thurs) Create furniture entirely from hand tools Rough to ready construction method Every detail explained in full high definition Online forum to ask questions to Rob and community Also includes many BONUS videos and perks… Hand and Power Tool reviews Downloadable project plans Exclusive DVD Clips from Rob’s collection Discounts to Rob’s in person workshops...
