Bosch RH328VC-36K – Cut the Cord, not the Power

Bosch RH328VC

When it comes to concrete, Bosch is the front runner.  They make some of the toughest tools in the industry.  In fact, we have still been using the Bosch Bulldog – RH228VC.  This year we were fortunate enough to visit the World of Concrete.  One of the tools that stood out for the show was the new Bosch RH328VC-36K 1-1/8 In. SDS-plus Rotary Hammer.  This is a 36V bad boy toy that will drill through concrete like butter.  Okay, maybe not butter, but I think you get the point.

This beast uses a four pole motor that delivers a whooping 4,100 bpm.  If you know Bosch, you already know that their concrete tools are one of the best for vibrations. While some other manufacturers beat the heck out of your arms and hands, Bosch seems to have this down where most of the vibrations never reach your arms.  So as you guessed, this tool also incorporates a vibration control system to reduce the suffering to your hands and arms.  The tool has a variable speed trigger and also has a reverse. This Bosch RH328VC hammer provides Electronic Precision Control for smooth starts and Vario-Lock positioning to rotate the chisel 360°.  Unfortunately we all know what happens when you’re drilling and you hit rebar.  With that said Bosch did something smart and designed this tool with a KickBack Control to help with bit bind-ups.  The drill has three modes: rotary hammer, rotation only and hammer only.

Bosch RH328VC Kit

  • (1) – 360° Auxiliary Side Handle
  • (1) – Carrying Case
  • (1) – 1/2-Hour Charger
  • (1) – Depth Gauge
  • (2) — Lithium-Ion Batteries

This is one of those tools I can’t wait to try out.  We had a chance to use it at World of Concrete, but would really like to see how it performs with more use.

  1. Having that safety built in is an important thing, especially with all these modern reinforced concrete these days you never know what your drilling into sometimes. Bosch definitely makes one of the best SDS hammers on the market.

  2. I feel like I am so out of date when it comes to these things. My sawzall, holehawg, portable band saw and my rotary hammer. They are all so heavy and they have a cord. The problem is I don’t want to have to buy into another cordless lineup. If I where to get everything I wanted I would have a ton of different battery’s and chargers. I don’t have time to deal with that. But in all fairness I think Bosch has the best rotary hammer, and I am assuming that the cordless is just as good.
