Bosch 18V Compact Hammer Drill – HDS182-02

8

Bosch just made my day.  I am a huge fan of compact drills.  Yes I like lots of power, but the fact is I don’t need large amounts of power most of the time, so why deal with the extra weight?  I have been using the Dewalt compact for a while and love it. However that is the only Dewalt cordless tool I really have.  So in reality it has been more of a pain to have extra batteries around.  On the other hand I do own multiple Bosch tools.  Before I forget, yes this is brushless.

I have been using Bosch ever since I first got into construction in 1992 right when Chicago had their major flood.   I have always owned a Bulldog.  All I can say is I really think I heard concrete cry once when I brought out a Bulldog.

  1. Nice drill, I think with modern materials and production techniques a plastic chuck isn’t that much of a disadvantage. The internals of the chuck are still metal and in this case it’s a Jacobs chuck so you know it’s going to be quality!

  2. Eric thanks for the specs on the new Bosch compact hammer. I’m actually the oppisite. I have DeWalt cordless tools and a Bosch circular saw, which I like by the way. I would love to get a few more Bosch cordless tools, but I can’t justify spending the dough on something that I already have in another brand. I don’t have the cash to own several drills or any other cordless tool for that matter. My brothers father in law is a carpentar & all he uses is Bosch tools. He has a big collection. I’ll continue to use my Bosch circular saw & may buy an extra battery only. I also have the DeWalt cordless & corded, but I like to use the Bosch, for some reason it feels better. Laters TIA

  4. Awesome. Very nice hammer drill. Strange that Bosch finally pushing out their brushless line. A year after other big pro brand. I guess good stuffs come it last. We will see what else they come out with in their brushless line. At least seeing many great deal on the 18v non brushless tool is going on sale!
