Hilti SID 4-A22 Impact Driver

About four years ago we reviewed the Hilti SID 18-A Cordless Impact Driver.  Since then, this has been my go to driver, I love it.  So when Hilti said they have another impact driver in the 22V line, I knew it was something I wanted to try out.  Now I have to admit, I am a huge Hilti fan.  Not because they pay us, but it has been one of those tools that have never let me down.  I am not saying they don’t break or they don’t have defective tools, but I rarely every talk to someone who said...

Pardon the Interruption

Big changes are coming to Tools in Action.  Not only do we have a lot of fun and exciting new things for 2017, but we will be making a change.  This week we are moving our server and changing our domain.  We will do our best to keep things live, but you may experience a couple small and hopefully short outages over the week.  If you do experience any problems, we are sorry and should only be temporary.  Also we will be changing our domain name from professional-power-tool-guide.com to toolsinaction.com. Once we make the change you should be able...

Milwaukee M18 Compact Vacuum – 0882

If this vacuum is anything like the Milwaukee M18 0880-20, this thing is going to be a winner and everyone will want it.  I have owned the 0880 since it first came out and this thing is still running strong.  We use it almost every day from cleaning out the truck to sucking water out of our pit and everything in between. The new Milwaukee M18 compact vacuum seems to be just as cool, but with a twist, which is one thing I am digging about this vacuum.  You can either use it standing up to get a larger area...

Bosch 12V Impact Driver

Bosch may not have the largest 12V line on the market, but the tools they have out for the 12V line, well let’s just say they rock.  I am a huge fan of Bosch power tools, but I think they make the most comfortable 12V tools.  For me, I think it is the highest quality 12V tool you can buy.  Well, it may come as no surprise to you, but this 12V impact driver isn’t any different and Bosch didn’t disappoint.  The PS42 should be your next buy if you are looking for a 12V line.  No, they don’t...

Ryobi 18V Palm Router Model P601

Ryobi currently has a palm router on the market that runs on their 18V platform.  If you check it out at Home Depot, people love the router and give it high praise.  So if you think that is a good palm router, you have to check out their updated palm router model P601.  This is a huge step up. When I say it’s a big step up, this palm router feels great, feels like a quality router and has some great features to it.  Now,  you’re not going to use this router to create a house since it’s cordless,...

Ryobi 18V Belt Sander Model P450

This tool is the exact reason why I love Ryobi and always recommend their line of products to Homeowners.  Well, it’s not just because they have a cordless belt sander on the market, but because of their line-up of 18V tools.  Who else on the market has such a wide range of cordless power tools on the market?  Sure there are companies who have a ton of SKU’s on the market, but if you look at Ryobi array of tools, no one beats them.  Couple that with who they are, Quality tools at reasonable prices and no other manufacturer...

Ridgid Cordless Compressor R0230

The sleeping giant is at it again, this time with a pretty cool idea that is sure to impress the mass.  Ridgid launched a new cordless compressor.  Yes, you hear that right.  Ridgid has a cordless compressor.  The R0230 runs off of either (1) 18V battery or (2) 18V batteries.  Seriously how cool is that? Now I know this isn’t for everyone, but there are a ton of people who I think will welcome this nailer.  For the professionals, it’s great for a trim guy.  You don’t have to worry about an extra power cord.  Plus with pneumatic nailers, they tend...

Klein Tradesman Pro High Visibility Backpack

The maker of what some consider the best hand tools on the market, now has a high visibility backpack to go along with your tools.  True, they already have backpacks on the market along with a rolling tool bag and a shoulder tool bag, but this is a little different.  This is their high visibility backpack.  So why would you want a high vis backpack?  Well, it can come in handy for two reasons. First, a high visibility backpack can not only let others see where you are and help keep you a little safer, but it is also...

Ridgid 18V Brushless 4-1/2 Angle Grinder

I always look at Ridgid as a sleeping giant.  Ridgid has some great tools, but they are not on everyone’s radar.  If you have been watching us for a while, you have probably seen some of our tool fights.  We usually have Ridgid mixed in the fight and almost every time they have come out on top.  They are just quality tools and they don’t beat you up on price.  Since they aren’t on everyone’s radar, I wanted to show off the Ridgid 18V 4-1/2″ angle grinder. Ridgid designed this with a brushless motor which means it’s more efficient,...

Hilti – 3 New Drills Preview

If you have been following us for a while, you know Hilti is one of my favorite brands on the market.  Over the years I have had a chance to use them when I was in construction.  The one thing I can say is they are worth every penny.  Hilti is a little different since they sell directly to the consumer and not the normal path of a distributor. There are a lot of things you should know about Hilti, but two things, in particular, is their warranty and their fleet program.  I am not going to get into it...
