It looks like DeWALT has released an Android mobile phone in the United Kingdom. Does that mean it is coming here? We do not know, but it is very cool. It runs Android 5.1 Lolipop and is capable of 4G. It has two cameras, a 13 MP rear facing camera and a 5 MP front facing camera for those times where you want a selfie while you hanging off the 50th floor of the building you are working on.

It also has some neat features like wireless charging, so you have no cords to deal with. It is IP68 rated which makes it virtually water and dust proof. It has Gorilla glass so the chance of you breaking the screen is slim unless you hit it directly with a hammer. The phone also touts that it can be used with gloves on.

The phone looks very cool and would make any DeWALT fan drool. I am sure this is licensed product just like CAT licenses their smart phones. Either way it is good to start seeing tough phones for the jobsite. Currently you have to get a tough case for your phone to survive a job site which adds bulk and generally reduces the functionality of the phone.  It is good to see a phone dedicated to the tradesman even if it is in the U.K. first!
