Today is the day we leave for the Kobalt tool event. Each year we are lucky to visit with tool companies and meet them face to face. We get to see new tools, meet new people and just hang out and have some fun. We have been to a lot of events over the years, but I have to say I think this will be the best one of them all. Sorry to the other tool manufacturers , but once you learn what we will be doing, well I am sure you would feel the same. So make sure you keep checking our Twitter and Periscope as we will be doing a lot of Periscope this weekend. So what we will be doing?
Friday we will be doing a lot of traveling. We get the pleasure of sitting in the Chicago traffic and testing out the new pot holes that will be there for the next 5 years. Good news, we will be landing in Las Vegas and hopefully enjoying a little bit better weather than what we have in Chicago.
Saturday starts off with learning and seeing some different Kobalt tools. That will take place from 10:00 am to 1:30, so keep an eye out as we will try to bring it live on Periscope. Now I am not sure if we will see embargoed stuff, so that we won’t Persicope. However everything else we will try to bring that live. I have heard Kobalt is coming out with some pretty cool things this year, so I am excited to see what’s in the pipeline. Later on that night is when Dan is convinced he will die. At dusk we get to take a Helicopter ride, which I am looking forward to. Once Dan found out about the helicopter ride, he wouldn’t shut up about how dangerous they are. I can’t tell you how many videos and news articles he sent me about the history of these tours. So speaking of that, if you don’t see another post on Monday, you know he was right. As for me, I am looking forward to it. I will just make sure he has a fresh pair of Depends on before he goes up in the helicopter.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday
Sunday is race day. Seriously, how cool is that? We get to go to a NASCAR race in Las Vegas. Vegas is one of the fastest tracks on the circuit, so that should be cool. I just hope the weather is nice. Another cool thing about the race, is since we are with Kobalt, we can say we actually have a driver who can race. Jimmy Johnson will be driving the number 48 Kobalt car, one of my favorite drivers in NASCAR. Talk about winning, he has won 6 Sprint Cup Champions, a total of 76 races won, 209 top five finishes, 315 top ten finishes and 34 pole positions. I have to say that is pretty much domination.
So there you go. Now you know why this is probably the best tool event, business and pleasure all in one. So stay tuned this weekend as we will try to bring a bunch of these events live on Periscope. If you are not familiar with periscope, it’s an app you can download on IOS or Android. You sign in with your Twitter account and see exactly what people are doing live. You can listen to the persons voice and you can type to talk. Technology, who says we haven’t expanded our universe?
