Milwaukee 1/2″ Brushless 18V Compact Hammer Drill/Driver – 2702-22

7

Well it’s finally here, the Milwaukee compact drill.  I have to say I have been waiting for this for a long time.  The first thing I can say is that Milwaukee didn’t disappoint.  Even their compact impact is a great tool with a great design.  As you know I moved from Milwaukee to Dewalt for this very reason, because of compact.  While Milwaukee always made a great drill, it was sometimes over kill for certain applications.  Yes they do have a great 12V drill available, but then again, your investing in a different battery platform.  (Yes, i know I did that with the Dewalt).  So now is the time to rejoice for all the Milwaukee M18 lovers who want power and speed, but don’t want the bulk.

Stay tuned because we are going to have a tool fight with the Milwaukee and Dewalt compact coming up.

  1. I know what you mean Eric. I have milwaukees premium hammer drill. Not brushless though. Its a beast. My arm gets tired of using it. Looking forward to the tool fight.

  2. I’m looking forward to this tool fight. Love the dcd795 so this new Milwaukee will have to be extremely special to unseat it as the best compact hammer in my opinion.

  3. I just ordered and received my Milwaukee compact brushless drill/ impact combo set in the mail today! I’ve not yet used them. I’m replacing an old Craftsman 19.2 volt drill with Nicad battery. The Craftsman drill weighs a ton, Can’t wait to toss it and start using my new Milwaukees. Also, this my first time getting an impact driver. I would really like to see a battle between my new Milwaukee compact set and Dewalt’s brushless compact set. I went back and forth between the two and ended up picking the Milwaukee because the batteries on the Dewalt seemed to jiggle a lot when I tested them at the test counter at Home Depot. Also, I read a couple of reviews about chuck wobble on the Dewalt’s. There are tons of head-to-heads between the Milwaukee Fuel and the larger Dewalts. Most DIYers like myself are interested in compact tools versus the larger, heavier ones. Please do a face-off. The video of you reviewing the compact set said that you would. Can’t wait to see it.
