In late 2013 and early 2014 the tool world was abuzz about the Cole-Bar hammer.  it combined 7 tools in one.  They wanted $100k on Kickstarter and got over funded with $135,250.  This was on June 24th 2013, since then they have been sort of dormant.  Here we are over a year and a half later and still no product.  A few of you have asked what is going on.

They have been posting some updates to their backers and on their Facebook page.  They claim that they had to do some redesign and that their manufacture dropped out.  The tool is in limbo and the vague updates could spell trouble.  What happens when you have invested in a Kickstarter campaign and it fails?  It is the responsibility of the creator to fulfill their promise otherwise return the funds to the backer.  Read more about that on Kickstarter.

Kickstarter is not responsible for campaigns that go belly up.  For everyone that invested in the Cole-Bar hammer there is still some hope that the tool will materialize.  However it seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment.  They should consider selling the patent to a tool brand that has the capacity to produce and market the tool.  We have sent some emails in the past to Cole-Bar with no response. Personally I hope it comes out because it is a great idea and I wish them all the best. Visit Cole-Bar for more info.
