Inverters seem to be the popular way to go these days from the camp site to the job site. Everyone wants to be like the Honda inverter that is so quiet but no one wants to pay the price. Honda is a great brand but personally in this day and age I think they are bit overrated. Yamaha is the just as good as the Honda maybe not as quiet but it is a great little unit. We got ours with free shipping from The Tool Nut.
The Yamaha started first pull every time and sips fuel. It can run for 10.5 hours with 1.1 gallon of gas on a 1/4 rated load. This unit is rated for 1600 watts and has 2000 starting watts. As you can see in the video we ran an air compressor and a miter saw off of the unit. It weighs 44 lbs and produces 8 amps @ 12v DC and16.7 amps @ 120V. One thing to note as that Yamaha does not include the oil with this unit. You will need to purchase that separately. A generous 3 year warranty covers this tool.
