Milwaukee’s New M18 Fuel Compact Impact Wrench

7

I have been waiting a while for this release.  I have been checking Milwaukee’s website for a while and all it does is tease me stating this would be released soon.  Well the day is finally here, well in March 2013.  This new wrench is part of their Fuel line.  The wrench also utilizes a brushless motor that delivers over 200 ft-lbs of torque, not bad for a cordless compact wrench.  One cool thing is this wrench comes with either the 4.0 or 2.0 batteries, depending upon which model you go with.

The new M18 FUEL™ Compact Impact Wrenches are available in two sizes and three anvil style options for various applications and user preferences. For quick socket changes, the 2654 features a 3/8” Friction Ring Anvil and the 2655B features a ½” Ball-Pin Anvil. These models are recommended for trades that do ground level work. For maximum socket retention, the 2655 features a ½” Pin Detent Anvil for trades that do work overhead.

  1. I don’t know about the impact wrench, but I have the impact driver with the brushless technology and it rocks. I have not been disappointed at all, which I was a little nervous about because of the price. But I’m happy to say it considerably lightens my load. I’ve used it so far for projects where I may have used a couple different corded drills to complete previously. So, as I say, the wrench is a different tool, but the technology is excellent so far and I really recommend it! Still, I’m just one man…

  2. The 2655B is an exceptional tool. It has loads of power in a very maneuverable package. The Dewalt competitor (DCF880) has slightly better led lighting, and is 0.30 inches smaller, but it is not as efficient, has no adjustable torque settings, and makes about 50-60 ft-lbs less max torque.

  3. Disappointed by a review that does not actually employed the tool and give us results. It says 200 pounds of torque. But a review should test the specification.
