I don’t think there is any cooler sound than having an air impact racing in your hand.  Well maybe the winning sound of a slot machine in Vegas, but I wouldn’t know.  That would be nice, winning a jackpot in Vegas.  OK sorry enough dreaming, let talk about the Impact Wrench.

We have been doing a lot of ACDelco tools in the recent months, but most of them battery operated.  This is one of the few air operated wrenches we have done in a while.  Dan and I don’t use these everyday, so after I rotated my tires, we took it over to our local mechanic shop and had him take a look at it.  We gave it to him to use and we knew when we get it back, it would be all beat up.  While our initial goal was to be there when he used the wrench, it didn’t turn out that way.  We ended having to leave it there.  While he is a very nice guy, he is not someone I would ever want to lend my tools to.  He is the type that throws things around and doesn’t really care.  It’s cool if he does that to his tools, but not mine.  After much hesitation on my part we left the shop and came back in a week.  One thing I can say is he did get some good use out of the tool, I am just happy we took pictures of the tool before.  He primarily used it for rotating tires, some engine and transmission work.  Over all he was very impressed and like the tool a lot.  At 600 ft-lbs of torque it has some great power to rip through just about anything.  We tried to pry and get the most information about the tool, but he is always very short on words.  Overall he liked the tool and thought it worked well, but he expected it to be a bit lighter due to its composite design.  Another cool feature is the exhaust vents through the bottom of the handle and not blowing debris at you still its not bad at 4.95lbs.
